“Obviously, the more you play, the more confidence you get, so I’m just happy to give it all and do my best,” he said.

“With the performance against City, I feel like just the more you play, you get more confidence. I feel that’s the thing with everyone.”

Iroegbunam has played considerably more minutes than Dibling, with the 20-year-old left to watch from the bench.

Moyes must play Dibling to see any Everton progression

There is no hiding from just how underwhelming of a season Dibling has endured on Merseyside.

Some of it is certainly his own doing, with Leon Osman urging Dibling to improve off the ball amid his Everton struggles.

However, playing one minute of Premier League football since last year is not going to provide the youngster any opportunity to develop.

It must be caveated that, of course, what Dibling does back at Finch Farm is not public knowledge, but it is clear that he requires more regular opportunities at Everton.

Everton remain comfortable over Dibling’s future and there is an expectation for the winger to be handed a chance in pre-season.

That does put quite a lot of pressure on the big-money signing to hit the ground running in the summer to impress Moyes.

Everton sent Harrison Armstrong out on loan earlier this season to develop and play regular minutes.

What lies ahead for Dibling next season remains to be seen, but it is clear that watching from the bench is not what the 20-year-old requires.
