Everton may be enjoying a small break from Premier League action during this latest international break, but there is still plenty going on at Goodison Park.

It has been a shaky start to the season for Sean Dyche‘s men after four straight losses to kick off their 2024/25 campaign.

However, Everton have been able to pick up points in all of their last three games with maximum points coming against Crystal Palace.

But there are some seriously important things going on behind the scenes on Merseyside now with Farhad Moshiri looking for his exit from the club.

And as The Friedkin Group close in on their acquisition of Everton, it looks as if Dan Friedkin is already beginning to have an influence on the club’s set up.

Everton make two additions behind the scenes

After well over a year of trying to secure a takeover on Merseyside, Moshiri finally looks to be closing in on a sale.

With the Toffees struggling in the early stages of the campaign, The Friedkin Group will be keen to have an immediate effect if they are to take over at Goodison.

And it seems as if they are already looking to put things in place behind the scenes ahead of their expected arrival on Merseyside.

According to The Athletic, Everton have just made two changes behind the scenes to their recruitment set up.

Former European scout Nathan Fisher has now been made the head of emerging talent where he will focus on the age range of 16-21-year-olds.

And then Toronto FC’s former head of of European scouting, Colin Rooney, has now been added at Goodison and will take over Fisher’s previous remit.

With finances tight, this is believed to be an attempt to get things in order behind the scenes ahead of Friedkin’s arrival at the club.

The Friedkin Group are closing in on Everton takeover

In the same report, it is claimed the takeover is now experiencing an expected lull which will see the process just take a back seat.

Everything is believed to be in motion with the FA and Premier League as the approvals process is in full swing.

But there are eyes on the New York Court where A-Cap – the insurance and investment group – are being sued following their acquisition of 777 debt at Everton.

However, a resolution is expected to be found with Everton fans hoping to see The Friedkin Group through the door by January.
