Tyler Dibling’s display vs Burnley has brought Everton fans to the same realisation

Everton failed to beat Burnley at Turf Moor in what was a really drab encounter a couple of days removed from Christmas.

David Moyes’ side are now winless in three and have lost some ground on the European spots heading into the new year.

Everton did have a number of key players missing, with Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye notable absences, as they’re away with Senegal at AFCON.

That gave Tyler Dibling the chance to make only his second Premier League start of the season, and here is how Everton fans reacted to his display.

Everton fans impressed by Tyler Dibling vs Burnley

Everton fans were pretty impressed by Dibling’s performance at Turf Moor, and many admitted they couldn’t believe he’s been behind Dwight McNeil in the pecking order.

@_luke1878_ posted: “Like what I’m seeing from Dibling, how’s McNeil been subbed on over him hahaha.”

@evertonthatffs asked: “What did Moyes see in McNeil to pick him over Dibling? Genuinely.”

What did you make of Tyler Dibling’s performance vs Burnley? 👏

He should have had an assist but Beto was not sharp enough to convert his cross 😫

“If I see McNeil in a lineup before dibling in the future, I’ll cry,” @memyselfndiaye commented.

“Dibling already showing his quality, still baffled as to why he’s got no game time,” @EFCKyIe added.

“Lol why did he start McNeil over Dibling vs Arsenal,” @kitwilliamsss noted.

“This attack is dire, and utterly predictable – Dibling aside. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen McNeil touch the ball with his right foot,” @AO1878 explained.

James Tarkowski has noticed how hard Dibling has been working in training, so it should be a matter of time before he gets his first goal or assist, and then that’ll really kickstart his career on Merseyside.

Tyler Dibling needs to start regularly to get into a rhythm

Since joining Everton in a £40m switch from Southampton, Dibling has been limited to just cameo appearances off the bench.

That’s really hindered his performances as he’s not been able to get into any kind of rhythm, much like Thierno Barry when he was chopping and changing with Beto.

The teenager showed glimpses this afternoon, and hopefully, with regular minutes, he should reach the levels expected of him.

The Toffees have one more game before to close the year, as they take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Tuesday.

Hopefully Dibling is named in the starting line-up again so that he can play his way into form.
