Everton may have to get clever in the January transfer market with a number of areas needing to be addressed.
David Moyes will feel like the January window is coming just at the right time with a number of players not available over the coming weeks.
The winter market has always been a difficult one for clubs to navigate, with just one month to buy and sell players.
It is believed that Everton want to sign a new striker and right-back to address two of their biggest issues currently on display.
Everton did want to add a right-back in the summer, but they were unable to find the perfect fit after missing out on Kenny Tete.
However, the perfect opportunity may have just presented itself in a potential swap deal which could benefit both sides involved.
Everton showing an interest in Sevilla’s Juanlu Sanchez
Over the summer, Everton thought they had signed Tete from Fulham, but the right-back ended up remaining at Craven Cottage.
So, the search for a new right-back goes on as Everton continue to play with Jake O’Brien out of position at right-back.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Everton are one of the sides who are showing an interest in the Sevilla right-back, Juanlu Sanchez.
What right-back do you want Everton to sign in January? 🤔
Juanlu Sanchez could certainly be an upgrade…
It has been suggested that Everton could secure his services for as little as €10m (£8.7m) in January despite the €20m (£17.4m) asking price.
Sanchez snubbed a move to the Premier League in the summer, with Wolves keen on signing him, but he remains available for next month’s market.
Moyes is fixated on adding more goals to his side and the 62-year-old could help solve the issue through added creativity from the full-back areas.
The Blues may even consider a potential swap deal for Sanchez with a player who has been on Sevilla’s radar for months.

Everton could offer Sevilla Nathan Patterson swap deal
Rewind just a number of months to the summer and Everton agreed to loan Nathan Patterson to Sevilla.
The Scotland international has not played a single minute of Premier League football this season.
Could Nathan Patterson have offered Everton more from right-back than Jake O’Brien? 🤔
The irony in this is that Patterson’s Sevilla switch fell through because a deal for Sanchez to leave the Spanish side also fell through.
With a mutual interest from both sides in the respective right-backs, perhaps a swap deal could be considered in January.
Everton need more from the right-back position in an attacking sense and the Spaniard could potentially offer that.
