Everton make the trip to Burnley at the weekend as they look for their first win following two consecutive losses.

The Toffees have seen their options depleted over recent weeks with Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye now playing at AFCON.

David Moyes will feel unfortunate not to have taken anything from the game against Arsenal at the weekend.

However, the 62-year-old has been left with some interesting decisions and none more so than Everton’s summer signing Tyler Dibling.

Sam Allardyce has questioned whether Dibling has settled on Merseyside since making the move north from Southampton.

Ahead of the game on Saturday, James Tarkowski has shared a behind-the-scenes insight on the 19-year-old winger.

What James Tarkowski has noticed about Tyler Dibling at Everton

Moyes chose Dwight McNeil’s experience over Dibling at the weekend for the game against Arsenal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 26-year-old did not exactly impress, which leaves the Everton boss with a big decision to make at Turf Moor.

Speaking to the Everton website, Tarkowski has admitted he has liked what he has seen from Dibling and some other Everton players ahead of the game on Saturday.

“Ili has probably started every game, Kieran’s probably started every game apart from one when he got suspended. So, there’s two players who’ve played every minute so far until the last game,” he said.

“So yeah, we have to adapt with players like Tyler Dibling, Dwight McNeil, Charly Alcaraz.

“It’s an opportunity to go and play. They’ve been working hard on the training pitch and waiting, biding their time, and now, here’s your chance.”

It seems as if this is a common theme, with Angus Kinnear also praising Dibling’s efforts in Everton training back at Finch Farm.

Despite costing the Toffees a considerable sum of money, the 19-year-old still appears unable to earn the trust of his manager.

Everton legend Alan Stubbs expected to see Dibling start after Ndiaye departed for the Africa Cup of Nations.

It just goes to show how much work Dibling still needs to do to earn Moyes’ trust.

A number of figures on Merseyside have now said they have liked what they have seen from Dibling in training.

Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in McNeil, according to reports, ahead of the January transfer window.

Despite his future being up in the air, Dibling still cannot displace McNeil from the side.

A telling decision lies ahead of Moyes on Saturday.
