Everton are heading into January with a striker as one of their transfer priorities, but they are not the only Premier League club looking for more goals.
David Moyes’ former club West Ham United are also struggling in front of goal as they enter Christmas in the bottom three.
The January window is coming just in time for a number of Premier League clubs with some big improvements needed.
As for Everton, their CEO, Angus Kinnear, has said January will not see panic buys made, but the club will be looking for opportunities.
Heading into January, Everton are keen to sign another striker having seen Thierno Barry struggle to show much consistency.
But it could be one former Everton striker who could be London bound in an attempt to save the Hammers from relegation this season.

West Ham keen to sign former Everton striker
The Friedkins backed Moyes sufficiently in the summer market despite not being able to cover all of their needs.
However, more is going to be needed in January to really add some quality and consistency to Everton’s striker options.
According to The Telegraph, West Ham are interested in Coventry City’s in-form striker Ellis Simms as a January addition.
Do you think Everton made a mistake in selling Ellis Simms in 2023? 🧐
He's been flying for Coventry City ever since he left
The report does caveat that it is highly unlikely that Coventry would even open the conversation over a potential sale.
Simms has been lighting up the Championship since he departed Everton permanently back in 2023 for the Sky Blues.
With Coventry running away at the top of the table, Simms cannot stop scoring in the Championship.
Given Everton’s current issues in front of goal, there may well be a feeling that he could have done a job up front for Moyes in his current form.
Everton need to find more goals in January
Clearly, there is a lot of positivity surrounding Barry, who scored his first goal for Everton earlier this month against Nottingham Forest.
Barry has admitted he’s looking to improve his game despite likening some of his attributes to those of Kylian Mbappe.
Name some things more likely than Thierno Barry scoring 11+ goals this season… 😬
He'd need some second half to the term to reach those numbers…
But he has an awfully long way to go before he can ever be considered in the same breath as the France international.
Having netted his first goal for the Toffees, Moyes has noticed a more confident Barry in and around Finch Farm.
However, with Everton targeting European qualification, the Blues simply need to have their starting striker scoring more than one goal by Christmas.
