Everton came back from 1-0 down to beat Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

David Moyes’ side picked up only their second win in 12 Premier League games, so it was a much-needed three points to lift spirits.

Everton moved up into 13th and could still finish as high as 12th, which would be a pretty remarkable feat from where they were under Sean Dyche.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jordan Pickford earned much of the plaudits, but Michael Keane really impressed, too, having come in from the cold.

Everton went behind in the game as Raul Jimenez put the hosts 1-0 to the good in the opening 20 minutes.

Keane revealed that Moyes had a few words for the players at half-time, which ultimately was the catalyst for a much better second half.

“I didn’t think we were really at it in the first half but we managed to get back into the game,” Keane explained to Sky Sports.

“They had a lot of the ball but I think we controlled the game. The manager had a few words for us at half-time. He wasn’t happy with the intensity and the pressing. We had to give it more and we did.”

Keane hails Dwight McNeil for assist

Keane headed home a wicked curling cross from Dwight McNeil in the second half, which put the Toffees ahead.

He praised McNeil after the game.

“Really happy [to score],” Keane said. “I know Dwight [McNeil] can put a great cross in and I know the gaffer has been desperate for us to score from a set-piece.”

Everton are back in action next Sunday against Southampton, which will be the final ever game at Goodison Park.

Keane looked ahead to the Saints game.

“It will be a really emotional day. To come here and pick up three points is great and hopefully we can take that into next week.”

Everton have some really exciting plans for the final game at Goodison.
