Everton are showing an interest in signing Newcastle United’s Jacob Murphy this summer.
The summer transfer window has got off to a fairly positive start for Everton, with two summer signings already through the doors.
As the players returned to Finch Farm this week for their pre-season preparations, new signing Tyrique George and Hayden Hackney were both present.
With Jack Grealish done for the season, let us know your verdict on his campaign! 🤔
He provided six assists and two goals in the Premier League 👏
However, more work is going to be needed in the market if the Toffees are going to progress under David Moyes.
Despite already signing one winger through George, Everton are seemingly pushing to sign another as they turn to Murphy.

Everton showing interest in Newcastle United’s Jacob Murphy
Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has claimed Everton are keen on signing Murphy from Newcastle this summer.
With just 12 months remaining on his current deal on Tyneside, and Newcastle adding another winger already, Murphy is said to be a possible player departing.
What should Everton be willing to pay to bring back Grealish over the summer? 💰
It must be noted that no official offer has been made by Everton yet, but Murphy is a player the Blues do like.
Considering Everton have already signed George, this does raise questions over what could be in store for Jack Grealish’s potential return to Finch Farm.
Whether signing Murphy could end Jack Grealish to Everton rumours
There is a belief that Everton are keen to re-sign Grealish this summer; whether that be on another loan or even permanently.
However, signing Murphy would leave Everton with a bloated squad when it comes to the options to play out wide.
Moyes currently has the following players to choose from:
- Tyler Dibling
- Tyrique George
- Iliman Ndiaye
- Dwight McNeil
Last season the likes of George and Dibling experienced firsthand just how much of a struggle it was to earn an opportunity in the starting XI.
It must also be considered that George’s mere 210 minutes in the Premier League came at a time when Grealish was actually sidelined through injury.
Grealish has now returned to training following his rehabilitation and has been spotted back with Manchester City following the conclusion of his Merseyside loan.
Signing a player of Murphy’s age (31) would also put Moyes at risk of adding two ageing wingers to his side.
Ndiaye has been linked with an Everton exit and possibly replacing him with two players over the age of 30 would not be a great look.
Having returned just three goals and two assists last season in the Premier League for Newcastle, there will be many in the Everton fan base questioning this transfer link.
Although Everton may not be quite in a position to spend huge money in the same style as Tottenham Hotspur, potentially opting to sign Murphy over a player of Grealish’s calibre is not where fans will have expected to be after 18 months under The Friedkin Group.
