Everton supporters have been left fearing the worst when it comes to Iliman Ndiaye’s future on Merseyside.

As it always does, speculation surrounding Everton’s best players has already begun to grow in the opening weeks of this summer’s transfer window.

Ndiaye has been linked with interest from Manchester City among a host of other Premier League giants.

However, the Senegal international’s failure to quash these rumours has failed to put to bed the concerns from some Evertonians.

What Ndiaye has just admitted will only add further fuel to the transfer fire.

What Iliman Ndiaye has admitted amid Everton exit rumours

Ironically, the latest round of transfer speculation actually comes on the back of a poor end to the 2025/26 campaign for the winger.

The Senegalese media have also not been impressed with Ndiaye, who has been dropped from the starting XI at the World Cup.

Despite this, speaking to Rising Ballers, Ndiaye has shared his aspirations to become the best player in the world by winning the Ballon d’Or.

How likely do you think it is that Everton could lose Iliman Ndiaye this summer? 😬

Surely a player of his quality will want to showcase himself on the top stage 🤩

“We speak about being the best player in the world and the Ballon d’Or, winning those trophies, like the World Cup. These are my goals: best player in the world,” said the Everton forward.

Although there is no issue in aiming for the sky, there are clearly some goals listed by Ndiaye that could hint at needing to leave Everton to achieve them.

Why Ndiaye’s comments may worry Everton supporters

First of all, it must be said that it is a positive to have a player of Ndiaye’s quality at the club, with this level of aspiration.

Many will feel having a player who is wanting to lift the top trophies is a big positive for Everton as it could help raise the level of those around him.

However, it also has to be realised that Ndiaye is not going to be lifting those trophies in question at Everton.

Ndiaye has rejected multiple contract offers from Everton, with a belief that his camp are hoping to insert a release clause in any new deal.

Everton will feel comfortable around Ndiaye’s future given he still has three years remaining on his deal.

Yet his comments in the media over recent weeks are failing to make it clear he is not considering other options this summer.

Ndiaye admitted he wants to play Champions League football and that is clearly something Everton are not going to be able to offer him.

Despite the Toffees’ target of European qualification last season, Champions League football always looked a stretch too far.

With the clubs around Everton strengthening already in the window, there will not be a great deal of confidence ahead of the 2026/27 term currently.

Although it must be stressed that Ndiaye’s comments have not been disrespectful towards Everton, there is a clear undertone of eyeing bigger things for his own future.

Everton want to make Ndiaye one of their top earners, but the Senegal international and his camp are showing little sign of putting pen to paper on a new deal.
