What Jose Mourinho actually thinks about potentially replacing Sean Dyche at Everton

Jose Mourinho is just one of the many names to have been suggested as Everton’s replacement for Sean Dyche.

A busy Thursday at Everton can not be looked back on with the Toffees in the next round of the FA Cup.

However, there is a lot of work needing to be done by the Friedkins as they will not be searching for their next manager.

Sean Dyche was relieved of his Everton duties just hours before the Blues took to the pitch at Goodison Park to face Peterborough United.

Next Wednesday is Everton’s next game in the Premier League, providing the new owners some time to get their next manager in through the door.

Despite some suggestions, Everton are not targeting Mourinho as a potential replacement for the 53-year-old.

What Jose Mourinho thought about managing Everton

Some Everton fans wanted Mourinho to be appointed by the Friedkins with Dyche’s time coming to an end.

However, the Portuguese manager is still in contract with Fenerbahce and is not exactly lighting up the league over in Turkey.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Everton is not an option for Mourinho as he is focused on managing the Turkish giants.

Interestingly, the post does say that Mourinho could have his head turned away from the job at Fenerbahce.

But it does also say that it would take one of Europe’s big clubs to prise him away from his job in Turkey.

The Friedkin Group have already sacked Mourinho as the AS Roma manager despite him winning them the Europa Conference League.

So there would be questions over their working relationship due to their previous relationship.

Mourinho has already criticised The Friedkin Group

Following his sacking in Rome, Mourinho made it clear that he was disappointed by Dan Friedkins’ decision to part ways.

“I won’t be there at these final stages [European football], not because I have already been eliminated, but because I was ‘eliminated’ by someone who knows little about football. That’s life, full of ups and downs, and I’m growing, despite the unexpected and unfair dismissal,” he told Football.com.

Considering the Friedkins are looking to bring stability to Everton, appointing a manager with this type of personality may not be overly appealing.

Everton need someone to steady the ship for the remainder of the term and Mourinho is unlikely to be the man to do that.
