Everton will be hoping for bigger things to come over the space of the next year following another turbulent start to the new season.

Sean Dyche’s men are currently going into their latest game on the back of a hugely underwhelming defeat away to Southampton.

Following the defeat, Dyche has been slammed for his team selection on Saturday after leaving Jarrad Branthwaite out of the starting XI.

However, more encouraging times could be on the horizon as The Friedkin Group close in on their Everton takeover.

And a journalist from Italy has now shares when he expects the AS Roma owner to complete their takeover on Merseyside.

The Friedkin Group set to complete Everton takeover

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Italian journalist Daniele Fisichella has said he can see Dan Friedkin completing his Everton takeover by the end of the year.

“So yeah, things probably change drastically and dramatically in the near future,” he said.

“Perhaps even linking with a new manager, but yeah, everything, suggests that by the end of this calendar year. The deal should be in place.”

However, Simon Jordan has questioned The Friedkin Group’s Everton takeover with their current involvement in Roma as they look to grow their portfolio of clubs.

But it seems as if they’re ready to show their commitment to the Toffees with The Friedkin Group looking to sell some of their Roma shares.

Everton need to avoid handing The Friedkin Group mammoth task

With The Friedkin Group now being tipped with a potential takeover in the early stages of next year, a big couple of months lie ahead of the Toffees.

It has been a real mixed start for Everton with four straight defeats then backed up by a five-game unbeaten run.

But the defeat to Southampton has shown Everton’s vulnerability with a seriously daunting run of fixtures to come before the end of the year.

And if Everton are going to struggle with two months of poor results, it could leave The Friedkin Group with an uphill task if they are to land around January-time next year.
