Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur all summer, but he’s now signed a new contract, which is great news for Everton.

After a productive season for Nottingham Forest, Morgan Gibbs-White’s future was thrown into doubt as soon as the summer transfer window opened.
First it was Manchester City who showed an interest and then Tottenham Hotspur, with the North Londoners actually activating his £60m release clause.
Evangelos Marinakis and his chiefs argued that Spurs illegally approached their captain, which put the brakes on the transfer.
In a shock twist, Gibbs-White has now penned a new contract with the Tricky Trees and here’s why it’s great news for Everton.

Everton move step closer to signing James McAtee
Manchester City’s James McAtee was being lined up by Nottingham Forest to replace Gibbs-White, if he left.
It looked as though Everton had fallen behind Forest in the race to sign James McAtee, however, that’s now set to change as Nuno Espirito Santo will likely cool his interest.
With McAtee keen to stay in the Premier League, despite Bundesliga interest, Everton are now well-placed to land his signature.
The Toffees have been in talks with McAtee for weeks, so an official bid may be imminent, with Pep Guardiola willing to sanction his sale for around £35m.
Pep Guardiola really rates McAtee
It’d be easy to assume Guardiola doesn’t really rate McAtee, considering he is happy for him to depart this summer.
But, that’s not actually the case, he is evidently just keen to trim down his squad and perhaps any forthcoming sale will include a buy-back clause.
The Spaniard really likes the 22-year-old, as he labelled him a ‘special player’ earlier this year.
“I am so happy for him, he is a special player. A hat trick is not easy.
“He has an incredible sense in front of goal, he has the right tempo, he changed the rhythm to score and I am very happy for him.”
Clearly, Everton will likely want the deal not to include a buy-back clause, so that may be a potential stumbling block in negotiations.
