Everton are still actively looking to strengthen David Moyes’ squad ahead of the deadline at 11pm tonight.
Everton are on the lookout for attacking reinforcement following the injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dwight McNeil and Armando Broja.
That leaves Beto as the only fit and available centre-forward at the club, so it’s certainly an area Moyes wants to add to.
Everton have looked at Hamza Igamane at Rangers, but that deal is unlikely to transpire as it’d take an offer of around £25m to get the Scottish giants thinking.
The Toffees have also been eyeing Sunderland’s Tommy Watson after his impressive breakout season in the Championship.
And now, a winner in the race to sign Watson has just been named.

Brighton beat Everton in race to sign Tommy Watson
Tommy Watson’s early promise at Sunderland has put a number of clubs on red alert and Everton were keen to tie up a deal before tonight’s deadline.
Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa were also circling, however, it’s Brighton and Hove Albion who have won the race to land his signature.
Brighton submitted a £12m bid for Watson late last night and now it’s just emerged that he’s on his way down to the south coast to complete a medical.
Though, it’s also understood that the move will only be completed if Simon Adingra moves in the opposite direction, so there are still obstacles to overcome for the Seagulls.
As for Everton, they will have to move on to other targets.
Looking unlikely Everton will sign anyone
It’s now looking increasingly unlikely that Everton will get anyone through the door today, with the window set to slam shut in a matter of hours.
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers isn’t anticipating any further incomings once the Alcaraz deal is wrapped up.
Myers did stress that if a feasible opportunity arises, then Everton chiefs will likely explore it, but with the two domestic loan spots filled up by Jack Harrison and Armando Broja, any more loans will have to come from abroad.
A striker remains the most likely addition, if any.
