Everton are ‘one step away’ from signing one of the Europa League’s most prolific strikers

Everton remain active in the transfer market leading up to the deadline on February 3rd.

David Moyes has made it clear he wants two signings in at Goodison Park and the club are in the process of identifying the right profiles.

It’s understood a striker is top of Everton’s list of priorities following the injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja.

With Beto the only fit and available centre-forward, and Moyes not convinced on the former Udinese man, movement is expected in the window imminently.

And with that said, a fresh report has just emerged claiming that Everton are closing in on their first addition.

Everton ‘one step away’ from signing Hamza Igamane

Everton scouted Hamza Igamane on the weekend during Rangers’ 3-1 away win at Dundee United.

Igamane didn’t get on the scoresheet but aside from that, it was almost the complete striker’s performance.

And, quite clearly Everton chiefs were impressed, as it’s just come to light that they’re ‘one step away’ from signing the Rangers forward, according to TuttoSport.

It’s not yet been revealed whether a fee has been agreed, but clearly the deal has momentum with the deadline just five days away.

Rangers are in Europa League action against Union Saint-Gilloise tomorrow night, so it’ll be interesting to see if Igamane is part of the squad.

Igamane stats this season

Igamane has been in prolific form this season following his move from Moroccan side FAR Rabat last summer.

The 22-year-old is the second top scorer in the Europa League with four goals and has struck nine times in the Scottish Premiership.

Igamane is also thought to be attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur, so evidently it would be a real coup if Everton were to land his signature.

A telling few days await.
