Adam Aznou may actually help Everton sign £17m target as Alan Myers shares bad news

Everton could face a problem convincing Youssef En-Nesyri to move to Merseyside.

The Toffees have submitted a bid to sign En-Nesyri on loan from Fenerbahce with a £17m option to make the deal permanent, although Alan Myers believes the Morocco international is unsure about a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Fenerbahce themselves, however, are open to negotiating a deal with Everton.

This initially seems like bad news for David Moyes – but Adam Aznou might be able to help.

Adam Aznou and Youssef En-Nesyri know each other well as Everton lurk

The Fenerbahce No.19 actually already knows Aznou thanks to the Morocco national team.

Surely any hungry striker would leap at the chance to play in the Premier League? 🫣

Not the best look for Everton's potential new striker…

En-Nesyri and the Everton No.39 have previously made three appearances during qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations, playing 49 minutes together.

The pair helped Morocco win all three of those games against Lesotho, Gabon and Lesotho again.

Bringing En-Nesyri to Merseyside may even help Aznou himself.

The 19-year-old has struggled for playing time this season, with Moyes failing to even give the teenager a single second of Premier League football.

Having only just arrived in a four-year switch from Bayern Munich as recently as July, the Barcelona-born youngster surely feels quite lonely at Everton as he finds himself out of favour, so bringing a familiar face to the club in En-Nesyri could help Aznou find his feet quicker.

Everton could sign even more competition for Adam Aznou

The teenager is already struggling for action with Vitalii Mykolenko ahead of him in the pecking order, and Everton could now add to the competition.

A new striker now looks less likely… how do you feel about that?

TEAMtalk believe Everton want a new left-back and a new right-back this winter, despite the fact Aznou, who James Garner rates, can play in either of those positions and is already struggling for playing time.

Moyes would surely alienate the Morocco international if he does sign a new full-back, and Everton fans would also presumably question why he was signed in the first place if a new defender arrives.

Aznou proved against Sunderland last time out that he is capable of performing at this level, so hopefully, Moyes trusts the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man instead of shoving him even further down the pecking order.
