Everton could be about to launch their January spending as they enter talks to land Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri.

David Moyes will be delighted to finally see some movement from the board in the market as the struggles in front of goal could be given a boost.

Whether En-Nesyri is the right man for Everton will remain to be seen and it must be stressed that no deal is currently in place.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have now submitted an offer for En-Nesyri on an initial loan basis.

It does feel like a familiar story for the Blues in signing a striker from abroad, with a hope he can translate his form into Premier League goals.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers has now put a spanner in the works having heard some potentially problematic claims from Turkey.

What Alan Myers has heard about Everton’s interest in Youssef En-Nesyri

Everton are keen to sign a new striker this month, and so they should be given the dreadful returns from their current options.

Really, this should have been a position that was addressed in the opening days of the January window.

Question marks still linger over the interest in En-Nesyri as Myers has now heard that the player may not even be keen on leaving Turkey.

Surely any hungry striker would leap at the chance to play in the Premier League? 🫣

‘My understanding on Youssef En-Nesyri is that Fenerbahce would be open to a deal but the player not sure he wants to move to England, certainly one to watch,’ said the Everton News columnist on X.

Myers told Everton News that Beto could also leave Everton this month, but that would depend on the club bringing in another striker.

As things stand, it seems as if there may still be some work to do on the personal terms side of the proposed deal.

However, an opportunity in the Premier League is surely something that would appeal to any hungry striker.

Everton need a striker who is ready to score

Although it is great that Everton are in the market for a new striker, there will be a growing impatience from the fans over failed additions up top.

Everton fans have not been impressed with Barry despite his three goals over the last month or so.

How big of a risk is this for Everton? 😫

A Premier League-proven striker would surely be the way forward for Everton, but it looks as if the club are directed towards landing En-Nesyri.

The Moroccan striker has a solid record over in Turkey, but being able to translate that into Premier League goals will prove a big task.

Given Myers has heard the player would be keen to remain in Turkey, it may well suggest that he does not feel quite up to that challenge.
