Alan Myers shares Everton injury boost with £30m player expected to return this weekend

Everton returned to action on the weekend with a draw that has been able to keep them above the relegation zone.

However, a run of difficult festive fixtures is heading Everton’s way over the coming weeks, which could see their two-point cushion on the bottom three tested.

Sean Dyche has the backing of Farhad Moshiri but that could also be put under real pressure over the coming weeks and months.

The Friedkin Group are set to take over at Everton and that could well see a shift in the dynamic at the top of the club.

Despite heading into December this week, there is one Everton summer signing who is still yet to even play for the Toffees.

But that could be soon to change on the weekend.

Armando Broja injury update at Everton

Having signed on loan during the summer transfer window, Armando Broja has missed the opening months of the season through injury.

Broja has recently been spotted in Everton training where he has been seen looking sharp during some of the videos released by the club.

But the game on the weekend against Brentford came just too soon for the Albania international as he remained unavailable to play.

However, Alan Myers has suggested Broja could well be in the named squad for the weekend’s trip to Old Trafford after hearing the striker has looked sharp in U21 action.

‘It wouldn’t surprise me to see him on the bench,’ Myers replied to a fan who suggested starting Broja on the weekend.

Broja played for Everton’s U21s side on Monday night but was unable to get his name on the scoresheet as they lost 1-0.

When could Broja start for Everton?

There are some seriously daunting fixtures coming up for the Toffees over the coming weeks with a busy festive fixture list ahead of them.

However, Everton have some serious issues when it comes to finding the back of the net with the second-lowest number of goals (10) scored in the entire league.

There are some games coming up which Everton are not going to be expected to take anything from which could offer Dyche the opportunity to mix things up.

However, the Everton boss may also be wary about throwing the £30m-rated Broja into the mix and aggravating a potential injury setback.

After all, Dyche was hesitant about starting Jarrad Branthwaite and he ultimately turned out to be right on that decision.
