Everton are now all set for their 2024/25 campaign getting up and running following an eventful summer.

It has not just been in the transfer market where Everton have seen action with the club also involved in the drama away from the pitch.

John Textor has now entered a period of exclusivity to push forward his interest of taking over at Everton from Farhad Moshiri.

Everton fans have seen this all before with 777 Partners and The Friedkin Group’s exclusivity not resulting in a takeover.

However, this has not prevented Everton from adding to their squad over the summer with four new faces in Sean Dyche‘s squad for the game against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Despite this, Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have shared their concerns for the Blues ahead of the new campaign.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer share their Everton predictions

Everton still have time to bolster their squad with some further additions as they eye additions to their midfield after selling Amadou Onana to Aston Villa.

Edouardo Bove is a midfielder believed to be on Everton’s radar, but it seems as if the business done so far has not overly impressed Lineker and Shearer.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, the two Match of the Day presenters shared where they think Everton will finish the 2024/25 campaign.

“More of the same for Everton I think. Still one or two question marks,” said Shearer.

“I think it will be another tough season for them but with Sean in charge I would think they will have enough to avoid relegation but something similar to what happened last season.”

And it seems as if those concerns surrounding the Toffees are echoed by the former Everton striker, Lineker.

“I am going to go struggle to avoid relegation but they won’t go down because of Sean Dyche,” Lineker added.

Micah Richards can’t believe Everton haven’t signed another striker

Clearly, there are concerns across the board on the podcast with Micah Richards stunned by Everton’s lack of quality up front.

“I just don’t know why Everton don’t sign a striker. Calvert-Lewin is a good player, we have seen him when he’s fit, but is he going to be available for the whole season with his record?” he said.

Everton have signed Iliman Ndiaye this summer from Marseille but he is not arriving at Goodison on the back of a positive spell in Ligue 1.

Although Ndiaye has looked bright in pre-season, it still seems as if Dominic Calvert-Lewin is leading the line.

And there still remains questions over Calvert-Lewin’s future as he has less than 12 months now on his Everton contract.

Another addition up top would certainly help boost the hopes of those on Merseyside.
