Everton are starting to look up rather than over their shoulder, after another great win in the Premier League over the weekend.

The Toffees ran out 1-0 victors over Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Iliman Ndiaye’s penalty proved to be the difference between the two sides, as Everton put in a fine defensive performance against the Seagulls.

That’s now two wins for David Moyes since his return to the club, and fans are feeling much more optimistic.

But Moyes knows he needs new additions in the transfer window.

And that is an opinion shared by Alan Shearer, who briefly spoke about the Toffees on the Rest Is Football podcast.

Everton’s win briefly took them seven points clear of the relegation zone.

But Leicester City then beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday to cut it back down to six.

Despite Everton being in a much healthier position than when Sean Dyche left, Premier League legend Alan Shearer is in no doubt that Moyes still has to bring in a couple of players before the transfer deadline.

He said on the Rest Is Football podcast: “That’s what Everton have done this weekend. And now look at the belief they have. They still need to sign a player or two though get clear.”

Everton set to sign Angelo Preciado and more could follow

Everotnians are hoping to see the club really attack the transfer market in the next week, because it could mean the difference between pushing up towards the middle of the table and getting sucked back towards the relegation zone.

At the moment, it looks as though Everton could be set to sign Angelo Preciado, having submitted a bid for the Ecuador international.

Preciado is a winger who fans will hope can add some firepower if he signs. That said, his numbers of zero goals and three assists this season for Sparta Prague will not exactly inspire.

But previously, Alan Myers reported he expects Everton to make two signings in this window.

There is a feeling that Everton could be after a new striker, with Beto having told Moyes he wants to leave and Dominic Calvert-Lewin having picked up an injury against Brighton.
