Everton may have lost the Merseyside Derby, but Ally McCoist was blown away by one of David Moyes’ players.
Liverpool stamped their authority on the game in the opening 45 minutes after taking a two-goal lead into the break.
Moyes made a big change at half time, with Beto making way for the youngster Thierno Barry, who injected a lot of enthusiasm into the game.
Ahead of the game, Beto discussed his hard work in Everton training ahead of the Merseyside Derby.
Despite this, the 27-year-old striker left a lot to be desired and was hooked at the break.
Going into the game at Anfield, Arne Slot shared his admiration for Jack Grealish, who has really impressed in the opening weeks of the season.
And there was one Everton player who really impressed Ally McCoist in the pouring rain at Anfield.

Ally McCoist wowed by one Everton player in Liverpool loss
Robbie Fowler admitted he’d like to see Grealish at Liverpool having admired the 30-year-old for years now.
The former Liverpool legend is not the only one to share his praise for the Everton winger.
Speaking during the game at Anfield, TNT Sports co-commentator, McCoist, waxed lyrical about Grealish’s first Merseyside Derby appearance.
“What a beautiful goal. We’ve been treated to three classics. Didn’t Grealish do well on the left hand side?” McCoist said following Idrissa Gana Gueye’s goal.
“He puts a brilliant ball across, it’s well laid back by Ndiaye and then the finish from Gueye. I don’t think any keeper is getting anywhere near that.”
“In normal circumstances, I would give it [Man of the Match] to Grealish, but I like to give it to a player from the winning side. He was excellent.”
Grealish was named the Player of the Month for August, but he is still in search of his first goal contribution in September.
He was unable to turn provider on Saturday, but his display was enough to impress McCoist up in the commentary box.

It has been claimed that Everton are already keen to sign Grealish permanently from Manchester City.
Grealish is providing Everton with a fresh lease of creativity that was missing throughout the 2024/25 campaign.
Despite not providing the assist for Gueye’s goal, Grealish did offer a key cross in the build up to the goal.
