Former Everton winger Anthony Gordon has been strongly linked with a potential move to Liverpool in recent transfer windows.
It is another Newcastle United forward who now looks set to join the Merseyside club this summer, but Gordon has strong links to the Reds.
Everton offloaded Gordon to Newcastle for a significant fee, which marked just one of numerous PSR moves in recent years.
Simon Jordan slammed Newcastle fans over their Gordon hypocrisy as they look set to wave goodbye to Alexander Isak this summer.
With the club in a much better position financially, Everton are looking to add a new winger of their own in the coming weeks.
However, Gordon could have ended up back on Merseyside last summer, and he has shared his honest thoughts on the potential move to Anfield.

Former Everton star Anthony Gordon breaks silence on proposed Liverpool move
Last summer, it was claimed Gordon was open to joining Liverpool in what turned out to be a turbulent spell for the winger.
After the speculation, Gordon ended up inking a new deal on Tyneside, and he has now spoken on the links back to Merseyside.
Speaking to Craig Hope, Gordon has admitted he thought he was about to join Liverpool last summer.
“It’s true, that was the case. I would never lie. It was difficult for me because one, I had the Euros, which was horrendous for me mentally. I was there, I wasn’t playing,” he said.
“Then I had the transfer stuff. With PSR, I thought I was going to leave at some point in the window. It didn’t happen. I had to get my head around that to begin with (thinking he was going), and then to get my head around it again (when it didn’t happen) was hard.”
Gordon’s family are all Liverpool fans, with many of them wishing against the winger in the Merseyside Derby.
Had he returned to Merseyside, it would not have been a move which would have gone down well in L4.
Everton fans will laugh at Gordon’s transfer admission
Gordon also admitted in the interview that he can understand how Isak will be feeling having been through it himself.
This was not the case when he was at Everton, with Gordon pushing for an exit to join Newcastle.
“I understand what Alex is going through,” he added.
“What I can say, for me, is that it’s been an absolute pleasure to be out of the transfer speculation for a summer! It’s the first time in about three years! It’s been so easy, so mentally refreshing.”
The England winger claims it is difficult to be at the centre of the transfer speculation, but he did nothing to shut it down both last summer and during his time at Everton.
