Beto has had a real resurgence at Everton since Sean Dyche left, as the Toffees striker might have just let it slip how he was treated under the former boss.

David Moyes is largely to thank for the excellent turnaround for Beto.

Under Dyche, Beto had one goal in Moyes’ predecessor’s last 10 games, now the Scotsman has brought new life to the 27-year-old who has an impressive three goals from his last two Premier League fixtures.

Beto was close to leaving Everton under Dyche as his future in January looked all but confirmed with the exit doors waiting.

Now, the Guinea-Bissau international may have just revealed how he was actually treated at Finch Farm.

Beto might have just said how Sean Dyche treated him at Everton

Moyes has taught Beto aggression at Everton which has clearly improved his game massively.

The impact Moyes has had on the striker has been phenomenal as a few months ago you wouldn’t expect pundits to call Beto ‘unplayable’ at Everton.

It’s some contrast between just a month ago when Beto seemed surplus to requirements.

Dyche’s environment was toxic towards its final days, and now the striker might have just revealed how he fell into this toxicity.

Speaking to Everton’s club media on Moyes’ impact, Beto could’ve sent a slight dig to the former Toffees boss.

“He gives me confidence. He doesn’t scream at me if things don’t go right but he will let you know if you’re doing something wrong,” Beto said.

“He and his staff have spent time with me on videos of things trying to help which has been good for me.

“It shows they care about me”

Beto still has a lot to work on after Everton draw with Liverpool

Moyes made it clear he wanted the striker to destroy defences and make himself a nuisance on the pitch but he didn’t do that excellently in the Merseyside derby.

Although he scored early on against one of the world’s best in Virgil van Dijk, the 27-year-old still wasn’t winning many duels, and this is something that will take time.

Beto’s statistics in Everton 2-2 Liverpool
Touches34 (least touches in 90 mins out of starting XI’s)
Duels lost14 (most duels lost)
Aerial duels won %6/15 (40%)

Although the performance wasn’t great, all that mattered was the result in games like that, and Beto did enough with a well-taken finish in the 11th minute.

It’s still positive signs for the striker as Beto is beginning to receive praise at Everton and under Moyes, this can only progress.
