There’s no doubt about it, Everton are in a relegation battle and David Moyes is certainly up against it from the off.

Solving Everton’s goalscoring woes has to be the top priority as only relegation favourites Southampton have netted fewer.

The Toffees have blanked in 11 Premier League games this term, so it’s evident where the money needs to be spent this January transfer window.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin heavily linked with Atalanta and Armando Broja potentially out for a sustained period through injury, a striker is top priority.

A right-back is also expected to be on the shortlist and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters could be on Everton’s radar.

Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye are talented players but they aren’t involved enough in goals and assists, so another wide player has to be added to Moyes’ squad.

Everton should try to sign long-term target Samuel Chukwueze

Everton were interested in signing Samuel Chukwueze last year and it’s thought a £12m bid could be enough to strike a deal with AC Milan.

The left-footed winger has been in and out of the side this term and could genuinely be attainable for The Toffees.

Chukwueze was tipped to win the Ballon d’Or by his mentor Prince Victor Apugo when he first burst onto the scene as a teenager but since then, his development has stunted somewhat.

If Everton can unlock the Villarreal version of Chukwueze, they could be signing a player who’d almost guarantee Premier League safety.

On his day, the Nigeria international can win games on his own and for just £12m, it’s certainly a deal Everton should seriously consider.

Chukwueze’s stats show he’d be a massive upgrade on Dwight McNeil

If Everton were to sign Chukwueze, he’d likely be competing with McNeil for a place in Moyes’ starting 11, so let’s see how their statistics compare.

Evidently, Chukwueze trumps McNeil in every attacking metric, so the statistics suggest he’d be a massive upgrade on the former Burnley man.

The only potential stumbling block in signing the Milan attacker is his fitness status, as he’s currently on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Though, he should return at the start of February.
