David Moyes is desperate to see Everton make some late moves before Monday’s 11 pm deadline.

The Friedkins have been welcomed to England with a baptism of fire in this winter transfer market which has proven a difficult one to operate in.

Kevin Thelwell has been briefed ahead of deadline day with the mission to go and sign Everton a new forward.

The Toffees are extremely light up top with injuries crippling Moyes’ squad.

However, there is one deadline day signing expected to be made with Carlos Alcaraz set to sign for Everton on an initial loan.

Solid work has been done at Goodison Park over recent weeks to pull Everton nine points clear of the relegation zone, but Moyes wants to see further signings made.

David Moyes wants Everton to recreate Marouane Fellaini signing

As well as Alcaraz, Everton have been in talks to sign Junior Dina Ebimbe from Eintracht Frankfurt to really bolster their midfield.

However, a late deal for the 24-year-old is not expected to be sealed ahead of the deadline.

Speaking to the media following the victory on the weekend, Moyes admitted he’d love to see the club recreate the signing of Marouane Fellaini.

“I’ve done a few. Fellaini was the latest. Fellaini was the worst, I think it was after midnight by the time it got done,” he said.

“I’ve been in a few late ones but Fellaini’s takes some beating.

“If we were really fortunate to bring in another Fellaini, it would be great but it’s probably unfortunate in this window we might be able to do that.”

Everton fans expect Abdoulaye Doucoure to be Moyes’ next Fellaini and he certainly showed signs of that on the weekend against Leicester City.

A late move in the market to bring in a player who could provide as much influence as the Belgian did would prove a masterstroke from the Friedkins.

Everton’s midfielders need to chip in with goals like Fellaini did

With three of their four senior strikers currently out through injury, Everton really need some support from their midfielders when it comes to finding the back of the net.

It took Doucoure just 10 seconds against Leicester on Saturday in what was the fourth-fastest Premier League goal ever.

But the Mali international has some way to go if he is to replicate what Fellaini brought to Goodison Park.

The goal on the weekend was only Doucoure’s first of the Premier League season, a far cry from the returns which the Belgian midfielder offered.

Fellaini didn’t know Everton were in a relegation battle when he signed but with quality like his the Toffees were able to pull clear of the drop.

And that is what is required from players like Doucoure.
