Everton’s game against Arsenal on Saturday evening is just one of the many fixtures that have been rearranged this season.

The Toffees will be playing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the final time in 2025 in the unusual 8pm slot.

It is not the first time that Everton have seen a fixture pushed back to a night slot, with numerous home games being played under the lights already.

David Moyes has witnessed a lot of good on Merseyside in the opening months of the season as his side have had to adapt to life in their new stadium.

Everton fans have not been pleased by the regular fixture changes, which have predominantly seen the Blues play in the late kick-off slots.

In his final programme notes of the year, the 62-year-old manager has sent a clear message to the Premier League.

David Moyes issues Everton message over Premier League fixture changes

It would appear the Premier League scheduling rule has been broken for Everton, with the Blues set to play more than their limit of five Monday night games.

More late fixtures are already penciled in to be played in the opening months of 2026 following the latest announcement.

How is this even allowed to happen? 😡

Speaking in his programme notes, Moyes has issued his thoughts in a clear message to the Premier League.

“As a result we find ourselves here on the Saturday before Christmas. It’s certainly not ideal for fans’ travel plans, especially those who travel long distances to watch us and need to book overnight stays,” said Moyes.

“But for the sake of players’ welfare, the game being moved to Saturday is probably the right call.

“The Premier League have always been on top of these calls and I hope they continue to stay on top of them and make those decisions for the right reasons.”

Some Everton fans have suffered transport issues at the new stadium and playing in these late kick offs will not help matters.

It is the final game before Christmas, which will mean some fans may feel the late kick-off will allow them to maximise their days before the game.

Moyes wary of fixture build-up injuries at Everton

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is missing for Everton through injury after the recent defeat on the road against Chelsea.

The Everton absences are beginning to rack up, with Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye also away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Three games remain to be played before the window opens for business and Moyes has admitted he has injuries on his mind.

“With a busy schedule looming for us on the horizon, there is always a risk of injuries and suspensions, something we have had to deal with already this season,” he added.

Angus Kinnear has shared Everton’s transfer plans with the January market just days away from opening.

There will just be a hope that Everton do not need to cover any more injuries with January buys.
