Everton need to make their decision on whether they will be signing Carlos Alcaraz permanently in the summer.

There are a number of players at Everton who are yet to learn their fate with their contracts coming to an end.

Alcaraz is a player who does fall into that category as his loan deal is set to expire at the end of the term.

The Argentine joined in January as the only signing of the Friedkin era on Merseyside.

Everton could sign Alcaraz permanently for around £15m this summer, but there are not enough games for his clause to be made obligatory now.

If the midfielder is to join Everton when the window opens it will be through the approval of the 62-year-old manager.

And it has now been revealed just what David Moyes has been saying about the January loan signing behind the scenes at Finch Farm.

David Moyes saying one thing about Everton’s Carlos Alcaraz

After the performance from the Argentine on Saturday, Beto has raved about Alcaraz who provided him the assist for his goal.

When given the opportunity, Alcaraz has performed well in an Everton shirt, but Moyes has certainly overlooked him for Abdoulaye Doucoure.

However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Moyes has now changed his tune slightly on Alcaraz as he is speaking more positively of the midfielder.

It is not just to the press which Moyes is beginning to big up his Argentine midfielder, but also behind the scenes at Everton.

With a decision needing to be made on his future, this appears to be a real positive for the 22-year-old heading into the final weeks of the term.

Owen Hargreaves also praised Alcaraz for his performance on the weekend against Ipswich Town.

Doucoure missed the game on Saturday through personal reasons so it will be intriguing to see whether the Argentine can keep his spot in the XI against Fulham.

Carlos Alcaraz wants to sign for Everton

Moyes has praised Alcaraz during his loan spell but it has been apparent that he has not been totally convinced.

Starting the out-of-contract Doucoure ahead of the Argentine has sent a message across which didn’t read too well.

But it would appear the 62-year-old has now slightly changed his tune.

This will be big news for the player as Alcaraz has already shared his desire to stay at Everton beyond his loan deal.

“It would be great to stay here because the Club, the institution, the fans… they’re great,” he said earlier this year.

“It’s very crazy but that’s why I’m very calm and will keep doing the work I’ve been doing and show what type of player I am.”
