Everton have now welcomed Harrison Armstrong back to Finch Farm following his short-term loan.

Shortly after arriving in January, David Moyes approved the exit of the young prospect to Derby County in an aim to play more regular football.

And that is exactly what Armstrong has been able to achieve at Pride Park.

During his time away from Merseyside, Armstrong really impressed those at Derby with his teammates giving him the nickname ‘Bruce Wayne’.

It is a loan which could not have gone much better from an Everton perspective with regular minutes played and no injuries were picked up along the way.

An interesting decision now awaits the 62-year-old Everton manager this summer as to whether the youngster is going to be a part of his plans for next season.

Having now returned, Armstrong has shared his honest thoughts on his future at Everton.

Coaches at Everton are excited by Armstrong and the potential that the 18-year-old midfielder has to offer the club.

However, having enjoyed the taste of regular football out on loan, Armstrong is now likely going to be looking for more next season.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Armstrong has now shared a message for Moyes ahead of this summer’s pre-season.

“All the lads are wanting to be a part of it and part of the upcoming games,” he said.

“You want to be a part of as many games as possible. I think [playing there] is something that I look forward to and the whole Club looks forward to.

“[The team] has been doing really well and it’s nice to see the Club going in an upward trajectory. I think it’s something a young player wants to be part of. You see the Club moving forward with the new stadium and new players coming in. And yes, you want to be a part of it.”

There have already been some Championship clubs register interest in Armstrong ahead of the transfer window opening.

Another loan deal would not be difficult for the Toffees to find, but it is whether Everton feel they could benefit from the youngster’s quality in their own side next season.

What David Moyes said about Armstrong

It may be a cliche, but Armstrong could be like a new signing for Everton next season if he remains at the club.

Derby fans were wowed by Armstrong as he played a huge role in the Rams retaining their Championship status for next season.

But the step up to the Premier League will naturally be a big one for the youngster.

Moyes is ready to give Armstrong an Everton opportunity during pre-season, but the Scot has been cautious about overhyping the midfielder just yet.

“Walk into the first team is a big statement, to be a part of the squad is probably more likely,” Moyes said.

“Start of pre-season, we’ll bring him back in, and then we’ll decide then.

“We like him and we want him around. But we might think about another loan, but credit to him for going to the Championship and getting a starting position.”
