Everton played out a goalless draw against Burnley on Saturday afternoon in what was a really drab encounter.
Everton just weren’t at the races a couple of days after Christmas, although keeping a clean sheet is one positive.
James Garner was perhaps the Man of the Match, as he produced a dominating performance in the middle of the park.
Tyler Dibling also looked decent, and David Moyes praised his £40m summer signing, speaking post-match.
What did you make of Tyler Dibling’s performance vs Burnley? 👏
He should have had an assist but Beto was not sharp enough to convert his cross 😫
One Toffees star was completely anonymous, though, and it may force Moyes to accelerate a deal to sign a Chelsea player.

Everton could accelerate deal to sign Nicolas Jackson after Beto display vs Burnley
Thierno Barry has been the first-choice number nine for several weeks now, but Beto finally got his start against Burnley.
It wasn’t an encouraging performance from Beto by any means, as he touched the ball just 23 times and missed a big chance, as evinced by his Sofascore statistics.
Beto got his long-awaited start, did he do enough to keep Thierno Barry on the bench? 🧐
It only amplified the fact that Everton badly need to sign a striker in the January transfer window, and Moyes must surely be keen to push through a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson.
The Toffees are showing an interest in Jackson, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from his parent club Chelsea.
Everton are facing competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United for his signature, so they will need to guarantee regular minutes to gain the advantage in the race.
Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye could help facilitate Nicolas Jackson to deal
Jackson is currently away with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations and interestingly, is teammates with Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye.
The Everton duo could get in Jackson’s ear and convince him to make a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
How much would you pay for Nicolas Jackson? 💰
The Senegal centre-forward would join as the first-choice number nine, whereas if we went to Newcastle or Villa, he’d more than likely be a back-up.
So, Everton do have a couple of selling points to Jackson, who has netted five goals whilst laying on two assists for Bayern this term.
