Everton want to add Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz to their squad this summer.
Idrissa Gana Gueye has provided Everton with a real boost after signing a new contract, but additions still need to be made.
Harrison Armstrong is fighting for a spot in David Moyes’ plans amid plenty of interest from across Europe in his services.
Signings are needed quickly at Everton, with the Blues struggling during their pre-season tour of the United States.
There is money to be spent, as the Friedkins have given Everton £100m to spend this summer.
However, it is turning into a difficult market to operate in for Angus Kinnear, with their plans to sign Luiz potentially set to frustrate Moyes even further.

Everton willing to wait for Douglas Luiz
Moyes has personally requested that Everton sign Luiz this summer as he looks set to depart Juventus.
At the same time, the 62-year-old is pushing the club to bring new faces through the doors quickly as he struggles through the tour of the United States.
According to GiveMeSport, Everton are willing to wait until the final weeks of the window to land a deal for Luiz.
Everton face competition for Luiz from Nottingham Forest, who are believed to have also made contact in recent days with the midfielder.
Given that Luiz has been ostracised in Turin, it is viewed as an opportunity by the Toffees to lower the asking price set by Juventus.
In contrast, it has also been claimed that Moyes wants Luiz signed as a priority, with all other deals asked to be put on hold.
Leaving a deal until the final weeks of the window would certainly be risky given the demand for new signings on Merseyside.
David Moyes does not want to wait for signings
Moyes has made it clear he wants more signings and he wants them to be brought in quickly.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday evening, the 62-year-old did not mince his words in sharing his frustrations.
“We’re desperate to get things moving on. We know that time’s running out,” he said.
“We’ve probably had since the last game of the season, and I don’t know what, five weeks, six weeks, certainly, probably more than that. So we’ve got to start getting moving on, because it won’t be long until [it] starts to become a bit close to the end of the window.”
Everton have an interest in Jack Grealish, but this could be seen as an opportunistic signing that may require Everton to hold their nerve.
As for Luiz, he is likely going to be viewed as a key signing who Moyes would like in as soon as possible.
No one has nailed down the spot alongside Gueye this summer, and Luiz would likely land on Merseyside and take that responsibility.
