Everton’s interest in Manchester City forward Jack Grealish is growing.
Wednesday’s defeat in Chicago against West Ham United showed a number of frailties on display at Everton heading into the new season.
The large majority of David Moyes’ concerns come as a result of not bringing in players to bolster the depth and quality of his squad.
Everton actually played well in the first 45 minutes, but a lack of rotation in the squad saw some weary legs undone by the Hammers.
Moyes is keen to sign a new winger and, in general, boost the quality of the Everton attack.
With this in mind, Everton are keen to sign Grealish in what would be expected to be a loan deal from Manchester City.
And there is a possible secret weapon Everton may hold to secure the 29-year-old’s signature over the coming weeks.

Jordan Pickford could unlock Everton move for Jack Grealish
It has been suggested that Grealish could be open to joining Everton this summer, as he bids for more regular game time.
But the Toffees are, once again, going to face fierce competition in the race to land their man.
According to Team Talk, Everton could hold an upper hand in the race to sign Grealish due to his relationship with Jordan Pickford.
The pair know each other from their time in the England squad over recent years.
However, a possible deal for Grealish does still depend on whether City would be willing to accept a loan basis.
Interestingly, Everton could allow Grealish to remain in the north west, which could prove another big positive in their bid to sign the winger.
It has certainly been a difficult summer for Everton, but landing a player like Grealish could really change the trajectory of their window.

Pickford and Grealish hold strong bond amid Everton transfer talk
With Everton keen to sign the 29-year-old, Neil Warnock has urged Grealish to join Tottenham Hotspur if they are to make their move.
But the strong bond with Pickford is expected to hold some weight when the winger is making his decision this summer.
Previously speaking about their plans if England were to win the Euros in 2021, Pickford admitted he would head to Las Vegas with the Everton target.
“[I’d spend] three weeks in Vegas with Jack [Grealish],” Pickford told talkSPORT.
“It would be a great experience and I’d definitely be getting the rave on for a good spell.”
