Everton are looking to make some late deals work with three weeks of the January transfer window in the books.

Naturally, not many Premier League sides have done much business this month.

But Everton are one of the clubs who will feel bringing in new players is a necessity over the coming weeks.

David Moyes has highlighted the importance of signing players this month following the victory on the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Toffees should feel a big confidence boost from the win over the weekend, but there is still a need for the Blues to bring in some new faces.

Everton not eyeing Timothy Weah or Arthur Melo January swoop

It has been suggested Everton are showing an interest in Juventus’ Timothy Weah this month to bolster their attacking options.

A double swoop has even been mooted with reports claiming Everton are keen on midfielder Arthur Melo, too.

However, journalist Rudy Galetti has shut down those suggestions.

In a social media post, Galetti said: ‘Despite recent rumors, Everton don’t consider Arthur and Timothy Weah as priority targets.’

‘The English club has not approached either of the two Juventus players so far and, as things stand, does not plan to take concrete steps during this session.’

For the first time in a long while, Everton did not look short of attacking talent over the weekend as they put three past Spurs.

But the Friedkins still want to add another forward at Everton before the window shuts in early February.

Everton could benefit from Premier League experience

Given the short-term goals for the club is to remain in the Premier League, the Toffees could ideally do with signing some players who could slot straight into their starting XI.

Everton are confident of signing Ernest Nuamah from Lyon after the talks the two clubs held late last week.

How much of an impact he could make between now and the end of the season is another question.

The signs were positive of Moyes getting the best out of his players on Sunday, but the Friedkins should see this as an opportunity to invest whilst the club are on the front foot.

Adding a couple extra players could finally pull the Toffees out of this relegation battle.
