Everton may be leaving Goodison Park this summer but Duncan Ferguson’s legacy will not be left behind.

Given their struggles in attack this season, how David Moyes would love to have a striker of Ferguson’s quality up front for him right now.

The Scot was an imposing figure who intimidated defenders across the Premier League.

Jamie Carragher admitted he feared playing Ferguson when the Merseyside Derby came around due to his physicality.

His time at Everton will be remembered fondly by all with the striker even returning as a coach for a number of years.

Goodison Park will be sent off in style in a couple of weeks’ time and legends like Ferguson should be recognised at the finale.

However, when it comes to a potential statue at Bramley-Moore Dock, Ferguson had a brilliant answer in reply.

Whether Everton will build Duncan Ferguson a statue at Bramley-Moore Dock

Ferguson has admitted he’ll be attending Bramley-Moore Dock’s opening at the start of the new campaign.

Although an emotional goodbye awaits Goodison Park, everyone around the club will be excited to get to their seats at their new home.

Speaking on That Peter Crouch podcast, Ferguson shared a hilarious response after being questioned whether he’ll be recognised with a statue or a lounge at Bramley-Moore.

“It will probably only be one of my pigeons or something walking along the pitch” he joked.

“Listen, I don’t think they will. At the end of the day, the club need to make new history, don’t they? All the old history is at Goodison Park and it’s going to be a sad time in moving away. All the memories are in Goodison Park and I was a part of the history of that club but the club will need to make new history now.

“It’s a lovely new stadium and the coming players over the next 10-15 years will get lounges and statues. I think my time has gone a bit, to be honest with you, Peter.”

Ferguson will also be at Goodison Park’s Finale as he will wave farewell to the place he called home for so long.

There have been some real greats to play in an Everton shirt and Ferguson has certainly provided the fans plenty both on and off the pitch.

Goodison Park statues will not be moved to Bramley-Moore Dock

A lot of history will be left behind in L4 when the move is sanctioned this summer.

Carragher thinks it is time for Everton to leave Goodison Park and there are plenty of pros towards the move to the docks.

However, the club will need to create new history in their new home which does have some nods to their time in L4.

It has been suggested Everton will not relocate the Holy Trinity statue to Bramley-Moore Dock this summer and it will remain at Goodison.

Although this may not go down well with all, it does link back to what Ferguson said in it is time for the new players to write their names into the history books.
