Everton blow as ‘influential figure’ set to reject the Friedkins’ offer and leave in the summer

Everton have already seen some major moves being made away from the pitch ahead of the summer.

The Friedkin Group are really looking to shuffle the cards when it comes to the club’s recruitment structure.

David Moyes has done what was needed of him in keeping the Toffees up ahead of their historic move to Bramley-Moore Dock in the summer.

Everton are ready for a big summer transfer window and they are likely going to need it considering the players who could leave on a free.

But the new Everton owners are putting plans in place for their first summer window with new faces being added to the club.

However, there have been some departures along the way, with Kevin Thelwell leaving to join Rangers at the end of the term.

And it looks as if another could now be set to join him on his way out of Finch Farm.

Everton set to lose recruitment chief Dan Purdy

Angus Kinnear will join Everton at the end of the season as the newly-structured recruitment set-up begins to take shape.

It is going to be considerably different for Everton this summer, with new faces in charge and the expectation for money to be available.

There has been one piece of unexpected news as The Athletic report head of recruitment Dan Purdy is now expected to leave Everton.

It is claimed Purdy had actually been identified as the lead candidate for the new role of head of player identification at Finch Farm.

In a shock twist, it now looks as if the 31-year-old is looking to pursue his career elsewhere.

This is not what the Friedkins will have been hoping for as they have edged closer to completing their lineup behind the scenes.

Although Purdy is said to have become an increasingly ‘influential figure’ behind the scenes at Finch Farm over recent years, the Friedkins will be set to lose him.

Kinnear is eyeing Nick Hammond and Gary Penrice from Leeds United to join him in his move to Merseyside at the end of the season.

Everton have a huge summer ahead of them

Ahead of the stadium move, the Friedkins want to make a statement for Everton in the summer transfer window.

A big-name signing could certainly boost the fans heading into Bramley-Moore Dock.

However, given the number of players who could potentially leave as free agents, there is a lot of work needing to be done before that.

Everton are now in talks over new contracts as they aim to keep some of the players who are set to walk free this summer.

This is the Friedkins’ first summer window and they will be determined to get off to a positive start.
