Everton are in need of some serious recruitment over the summer transfer window.

David Moyes and his staff have a busy few months ahead of them to get their squad prepared for the 2025/26 campaign.

It has been a solid stint from Everton under the 62-year-old manager, but there have been some weaknesses on display recently.

In keeping Everton afloat, Moyes has proven a lot of pundits wrong who did not think too highly of the appointment in January.

However, as the months have gone on, it has become apparent Everton are in need of some quality additions over the summer.

And Everton are keen to sign a new midfielder over the coming months with players also potentially set to depart.

Everton eyeing move for Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi

With numerous players running out of contract, Everton hope to keep Idrissa Gana Gueye at the club with a new deal.

The Senegal international has been a real mainstay in the Everton side across the two managers this season.

And according to Ben Jacobs, Everton would like to add Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to their squad over the summer.

Ndidi was eyed by Everton last summer but the Toffees were unable to prise him away from the Foxes.

The 28-year-old has been hailed the ‘king of interceptions‘ despite Leicester’s struggles following their promotion back to the top flight.

A result of Leicester’s relegation means the midfielder now has a £9m release clause which will become active.

There are a number of other midfielders on the radar, though.

Everton are also eyeing Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United who will be looking for more regular first-team football for the new season.

Imagine Ndidi and Idrissa Gana Gueye for Everton

With the Blues looking to keep Gueye around for the new season, the Toffees could add a real upgrade on James Garner with Ndidi.

Moyes was furious with Garner during times in the defeat against Chelsea on the weekend.

Since returning from his injury, Garner has played alongside Gueye with Orel Mangala’s season being cut short.

However, Ndidi could be just the answer Moyes is looking for in the middle of the park to really reassure the Everton midfield.

Moyes dropped Garner the other week as it is becoming clear that Everton could do with an upgrade in midfield alongside Gueye.
