With not long left of the transfer window, Everton will need to start concrete talks for their January targets.

The Toffees will know they need additions to heighten their chance of Premier League survival next season.

David Moyes’ side face Brighton on Saturday and despite Everton’s 3-2 victory against Tottenham, they won’t be able to get carried away in what will be a difficult encounter.

Fabian Hurzeler is wary of Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the striker hopes to replicate his efforts from Sunday as Everton fans hailed Calvert-Lewin after his first goal in 16 games.

The striker could go on a run now, but Everton still need attacking reinforces and a new revelation could help Moyes sign a target who’s been tipped for a move to Goodison Park.

The Everton boss may like the latest rumours regarding a player that was recommended to them amid potential interest.

PSV forward Ricard Pepi has struggled for game time in Holland and it could open the door for a move to Everton.

Dutch outlet Eindhovens Dagblad reported in December that an unnamed Premier League club had made an offer of £17m for Pepi which lead to Journalist, James Nalton, hinting at Everton being that club.

Now, Eduardo Burgo,s has confirmed that Pepi won’t sign a contract renewal with PSV.

His lack of minutes at the Dutch side has made him rethink his situation in Eindhoven and first offers are expected to arrive starting this weekend, at the same price that was offered by the unnamed English club at £17m.

Former Everton players believe Pepi should leave PSV

Pepi isn’t the only attacker Everton could be pursuing, as Moyes is keen on former Premier League winger Willian who met his agent amid Everton interest.

The USMNT forward is an exciting prospect but for whatever reason hasn’t been getting the game time required with PSV.

It’s a surprising scenario as Pepi has scored in almost every start for Eindhoven this season, scoring 15 in all club competitions, but manager Peter Bosz clearly doesn’t see the potential.

Two former Everton players Tim Howard and Landon Donovan, do believe in their fellow American and are urging the attacker to move on.

Speaking on their podcast, Unfiltered Soccer, in November, Donovan said: “He banged in a hattrick for PSV, and you think he’d start the next game. There are reports of him making a move.”

Howard added: “If he gets in the starting lineup, stay at PSV, but if he’s scoring goals, clubs will take a chance on him.

“If a club comes after him and they say, ‘here is the key to the car’ then I think he has to chase more playing time.”

Donovan finished the debate with: “You know my answer – go where you are going to play, you’ve got 18 months ahead of the World Cup. He needs to be really clever in the next few months before the window. He has to be playing.”

It’s a shock PSV want to let Pepi go, but if the opportunity presented itself to Everton, it should be a no-brainer.
