Everton are still on the search for their first signing of the January transfer window.

David Moyes’ side are preparing for their trip down to the south coast this weekend to face Brighton & Hove Albion, but work is being done in the background by Kevin Thelwell.

Over recent days, Moyes and Thelwell have been assessing transfer targets at Everton as they eye their first addition of the month.

But time is starting to run out for the Blues who could really do with some new faces to bolster their squad.

It’s been claimed Everton are pushing to sign Willian this month after he became a free agent.

And there has now been a significant development surrounding his future.

Willian meeting his agent as Everton push to sign him

Since leaving Greek side Olympiacos as a free agent, Willian has been offered to Everton as an option in the January window.

However, the Toffees are not the only English side who could offer him a move back to the Premier League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, WIllian has the interest of three clubs in the country.

And as he looks for his next club, the Brazilian has now flown into London to meet with his agent to discuss his options.

With the 36-year-old said to be ready for his next chapter, Everton could see his next move unfold very quickly over the coming hours.

Willian is not the only forward who the Toffees are eyeing with Everton also speaking to Ernest Nuamah over a potential move.

Finding the back of the net has been an issue for Everton this season and any attacking additions should be welcomed before the deadline.

Willian would bring a lot of experience to Everton

Having played for the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, the Brazilian could provide the Toffees with a lot of experience for the remaining months of the season.

At the age of 36, he may not arrive and be a regular starter under Moyes but he would arrive with Frank Lampard’s approval after he described Willian to BBC Sport as ‘immense’

However, his experience could be exactly what Everton need to pull themselves out of their relegation battle.

Ashley Young has impressed this season despite being 39 years old and Willian would certainly land on Merseyside with plenty of Premier League knowledge.

On a free signing, the winger’s wage demands could play a huge role in whether Merseyside is his next destination.
