Everton have made some questionable decisions over the years, but for once this transfer scenario worked out in their favour.
Everton’s new owners have made a positive start at Goodison Park despite Andros Townsend issuing a warning over The Friedkins.
It will be a challenge for the new owners who will no doubt be trying to make Everton as sustainable as possible.
The hierarchy have already had to make some key decisions as The Friedkins are set to sack Kevin Thelwell and will be trying their best to keep the club in check off-field.
Farhad Moshiri did have a dismal tenure at the Toffees making some troubling decisions, but there was one time the right choice was made under his ownership.

Everton dodged Donyell Malen transfer as Aston Villa revelation revealed
Everton could sign three players this January, with a striker surely as a priority.
Aston Villa are a side making moves in their forward line, as it has come to light that Donyell Malen will join Villa in a £22m deal with add-ons of at least £2m.
The striker has been out of favour at Dortmund and looks set for a Premier League move, but the Dutchman could’ve made the move earlier to England than expected.
According to MailOnline, Everton joined the race with Arsenal for Malen in 2019 whilst the forward was at PSV.
Malen, who was 20, was in high demand, as Everton’s Director of Football at the time, Marcel Brands, was ‘pushing for the move’.
Malen was sold from Arsenal to PSV for £500k as they were looking to resign the attacker, but PSV were looking for a fee in the region of £50 million to tempt Everton or Arsenal.
A move for Malen to the Premier League never came to fruition at that time, opting to move to Dortmund two seasons later.
Everton have been known to spend needless money in the past but decided against submitting a bid near the eight-figure fee stated, and now the Dutchman is valued at just under half of £50m.

Everton may have avoided £50m fee but Malen would be vital now
It’s no secret that Everton have goal-scoring issues and whether Malen would’ve solved that is another question.
However, there is no denying he has a stronger record in front of goal compared to Everton’s current flock of attackers.
| Donyell Malen’s goal-scoring statistics (all-time) | |
| Dortmund | 132 games – 39 goals |
| PSV | 116 games – 55 goals |
| Netherlands | 41 games – 9 goals |
Arguably Everton’s most prolific goal scorer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, is the subject of interest and a player like Malen now would be a great fit for David Moyes.
After just 15 goals in the Premier League, Everton are crying out for a striker of Malen’s record.
No doubt Everton dodged the bullet of £50m, but Villa may have found a bargain with Malen when the Toffees so desperately need him.
