Arsenal urged to make ‘easy’ summer move for player who scored three times for Everton last season

Everton have waved goodbye to numerous players already this summer despite making just one signing.

There will be some players sticking around at Everton, though.

Michael Keane has now signed a new Everton deal to keep him around for the 2025/26 campaign.

David Moyes will also be hoping to see Idrissa Gana Gueye follow Keane in signing a new contract, with talks believed to have progressed well.

A lot of work is needed at Finch Farm in the transfer market to bolster the numbers and provide Moyes with a squad capable of competing.

This comes as a result of the departures, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaving Everton at the end of his contract, along with a host of other players.

The striker is now a free agent, and former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster thinks he is a player who should be in high demand.

Arsenal urged to make move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin after Everton exit

It has been suggested Calvert-Lewin is holding talks over a Bundesliga move just days after announcing his Everton exit.

The striker had a contract offer on the table at Everton, but Calvert-Lewin is wanting to test the market as a free agent.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster has suggested the former Everton striker is someone who Arsenal should be looking to sign this summer.

“It’s an easy one, it really is [for Arsenal]. Free transfers don’t come along very often when you’re an England international at 28 years old after playing regularly in the Premier League,” he said.

“A lot of people worry about his fitness, but the last couple of years he has played pretty much something like 26-30 games.

“I know he’s not so clinical, but I think Arsenal are so bare-boned when it comes to strikers.”

West Ham United have shown interest in Calvert-Lewin as they continue their yearly search for a new number nine.

If Calvert-Lewin were to find himself playing Champions League football with a club like Arsenal, then he should consider himself extremely fortunate.

Everton closing in on their Calvert-Lewin replacement

Just days into the new PSR window, Everton are closing in on a deal for Thierno Barry from Villarreal.

The France U21 striker is currently enjoying his summer break in Miami after playing in the U21 Euros for his nation.

Everton can even offer Barry his favourite number, with the Frenchman looking all set to make the move to Merseyside in the coming weeks.

This summer transfer window has promised to be a huge one for Everton, and the departure of players like Calvert-Lewin is providing the Toffees with an opportunity to reset.
