Everton are yet to open their account in the January transfer market as David Moyes awaits his first addition.

The 60-year-old manager has now been at Everton for a week, but no movement has been made in the market.

Moyes has urged Everton to make some signings after seeing the Toffees lose his opening game on Wednesday against Aston Villa.

Changes need to be made to Moyes’ squad with the Blues at risk of dropping into the bottom three this weekend.

The Friedkin Group targeted two signings before the window opened and there are two deals which they are currently pushing to complete.

Everton pushing to sign Ernest Nuamah and Willian

Speaking to the media on Friday, Moyes admitted Everton are eyeing Ernest Nuamah as a potential option to bolster their attack.

According to iNews, Everton’s owners are now pushing to complete a deal for Nuamah and for Willian.

Nuamah is believed to be valued by Lyon in the region of £17m this month.

Whereas, Everton could potentially land themselves a real bargain by signing Willian on a free after his Olympiacos exit earlier this month.

Sources have informed Everton News that the Friedkins are confident of signing Nuamah after positive talks have been held between all parties.

However, a deal for Willian would certainly be one which not many Evertonians would have predicted coming into the window.

Everton handed major PSR boost

After taking over the club, the Friedkins were wary of Everton’s PSR situation ahead of the January transfer market.

However, the club have now received a considerable boost with around two weeks remaining in the window.

On Friday, the Premier League cleared Everton of any further potential punishment with the investigation into their final charge dropped.

But now it is time to act in the market, Moyes has made it clear he wants January signings and the Toffees are not in a position to hang about in the market.

The game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday is very much winnable, but anything other than three points could see Everton drop into the relegation zone.
