Jack Harrison could very likely return to Everton for a second time this summer, but this time on a permanent deal.
It’s a prospect that has brought mostly negative reaction as Everton fans don’t want Harrison back.
But David Moyes makes the decisions around here, and it’s quite clear the Everton boss would welcome him back with open arms.
Harrison might not be on Leeds’ plane for their pre-season opener against Man United, which brings clarity that his future is uncertain.
There have been suggestions that Harrison comes back, but something else has creeped up, which is a spot-on decision by Everton.

Everton got something spot on about potential Jack Harrison deal
Harrison wasn’t exactly the best of players during his two-year loan spell.
But Moyes clearly liked what he saw of the five months he had the winger at his disposal, despite only scoring one goal last season, making that his only involvement.
Moyes is open to welcoming Harrison back, but it does seem like a last resort option if the Toffees aren’t able to land other right-wing targets.
With targets like Johan Bakayoko not joining Everton, it’s becoming more and more likely this is a possibility, but there is something that Everton already knew that has been confirmed with the deal.
It was made clear that Leeds would be unlikely to let Harrison leave for free after there was a suggestion the winger could have his three-year contract terminated.
With Leeds’ PSR affected, Whites journalist Graham Smyth has now revealed to his newsletter, ‘Inside Elland Road’, that there is an ‘awkwardness’ that Everton, so far, have not shown a ‘burning desire’ to get Harrison back permanently.
Last year, it was also reported that Harrison could have had his contract terminated, but it was made clear that this scenario wasn’t likely.

Everton have to make sure Harrison is truly last resort
With there clearly a deal still being navigated, the news that a free transfer is unlikely will bring joy to Everton fans.
But Moyes will be unhappy that this isn’t possible, even though it had a very low percentage chance of happening.
All that seems left on the table now is yet another loan, or a permanent deal, in which the Toffees could have to match the £11m paid for the winger by Leeds in 2021, and after last campaign’s performances, this is a red flag.
| Harrison’s 24/25 Premier League statistics with Everton | |
| Games played | 34 |
| Goal involvements | 1 |
| Pass accuracy % | 73.3% |
| Cross accuracy % | 23.7% |
| Chances created | 33 |
Although there isn’t a clear option on the right flank outlined to Moyes yet, Harrison has to be the last resort; otherwise it will make The Friedkin Group’s transfer strategy look lazy.
Everton have considered Harrison’s return for a while, but with a free transfer now out of the picture, Moyes needs to dial back his interest slightly.
