Everton are already looking ahead to the summer transfer window just days after the winter market shut.

It was an underwhelming January transfer window for Everton who were only able to bring in one signing.

And even the addition of Carlos Alcaraz saw the Toffees take until after the window shut to get the deal over the line.

David Moyes wanted two new players signed but was forced to settle for just one.

However, better times are expected to be ahead on Merseyside with Everton expecting some PSR relief ahead of the summer window.

And it seems as if the Friedkins already have some plans in place to attack the summer transfer window.

Everton and Arsenal both eyeing Wigan Athletic’s Sam Tickle

Everton have been beaten by Tottenham Hotspur to signing Mason Melia since the transfer window shut on Monday evening.

It now looks as if Moyes’ squad is set for the remainder of the campaign with Premier League survival the main target on Merseyside.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are just one of the clubs from across England who are showing an interest in Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Sam Tickle.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are also keen on the 22-year-old with Sunderland also showing interest from the Championship.

Everton are not expected to sign any free agents between now and the end of the season, despite falling short in the market.

Interesting months lie ahead on Merseyside with Kevin Thelwell’s time at the club looking set to come to an end.

Sam Tickle touted as a better prospect than Leighton Baines

Although Tickle and – former player – Leighton Baines play in completely different positions, those at Wigan have suggested the goalkeeper is their brightest-ever academy prospect.

Baines went on to leave Wigan for Everton where he enjoyed a seriously impressive career at left-back.

However, Tickle has been hailed as a ‘special talent’ by those at Wigan.

Jordan Pickford continues to impress for Everton between the sticks, but he is now in his thirties and will need a long-term successor to be lined up.

With 11 clean sheets to his name in League One this season, it is apparent Tickle is gathering a lot of admirers in the Premier League.
