Everton are now locked in for the remaining months of the season with Premier League survival on their mind.

A big few months lie ahead of the Toffees with a summer move away from Goodison Park set to take place.

However, Everton will need to ensure they are making their move to Bramley-Moore Dock as a Premier League outfit.

David Moyes has arrived back on Merseyside to guide Everton to safety following a turbulent spell under Sean Dyche.

The Everton players are loving life under Moyes with the Blues on an impressive run of three consecutive wins in the Premier League.

However, the move into a new stadium will bring its own challenges with other Premier League sides enduring their own struggles over recent years after moving ground.

David Moyes wanted Everton to redevelop Goodison Park

Everton are set to hold test events at Bramley-Moore Dock over the coming weeks to finally get the stadium fully signed off.

It will provide selected fans with the first opportunity to get a glimpse of the place they are going to get to call home.

However, speaking to beIN Sports, Moyes has now admitted he told the Everton board he would have preferred to see Goodison redeveloped.

“I’ve got to say, when there was a lot of talk about what would happen to Goodison, I was saying: ‘Can we not build on top of it? Can we not get another tier on top of the stand? Can we not knock one side down and do it up and keep Goodison?’,” he said.

“But the people who know more about money than me probably felt it was better to find a new venue and change to get out of Goodison. But that’s football and everything changes.”

Jamie Carragher is excited for Everton’s new stadium with the former Liverpool defender expecting it to provide the city with a real boost.

But it seems not everyone was originally so pleased to hear of the move to a new stadium.

New Everton stadium will be a huge PSR boost

The Friedkin Group wanted to buy Everton because of the new stadium with the opportunity to really grow the club hanging on the move of stadium.

Of course, Everton will be leaving behind a historic Premier League ground in Goodison, but there will be plenty of upsides.

Everton expect a £40m PSR boost to come out of their stadium move.

With that in mind, the Friedkins are going to be provided more freedom to spend in the transfer windows and actually back their manager.

The January window may have come as a disappointment to many, but better times are expected to be ahead.
