The January transfer window can finally be put to one side with Everton’s squad now set for the remainder of the season.
David Moyes was only handed one new signing by the Friedkins with Carlos Alcaraz signing for Everton in the late stages of the window.
Despite the injury issues on Merseyside, minimal business was done with Everton still hamstrung by PSR from the years of Farhad Moshiri’s tenure.
And Everton’s full domestic loan quota also meant Kevin Thelwell was limited in what he could do, but there is still a feeling more than one signing was needed.
And the latest claim from Alan Myers coming out of the window may well suggest that it will now be time for Everton to find themselves a new director of football.

Everton will not be signing any free agents
Moyes wanted Everton to sign two players during the January transfer window to bolster his options.
However, it proved a difficult market for Thelwell to operate in with their only deal of the window going right down to the wire.
According to Alan Myers, Everton will not be dipping into the free agency market following the closure of the window.
When asked by a fan if the free agency market is something Everton could now explore, Myers very simply replied: ‘Doubt it’.
It was a pretty damning indication that Everton’s squad is now set for the remaining months of the season.
Moyes is nursing a number of significant injuries coming out of January with positive injury updates on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja recently.
However, the frailties of this Everton squad fitness-wise have been there for all to see since the beginning of the term.
It does really feel like at least another face should have been added.

Final straw in Kevin Thelwell’s time at Everton
There’s no doubting clubs all find the January transfer window a tricky one, but it has to be questioned whether Thelwell done enough.
It is expected Everton will now move on from Thelwell, with the Friedkins eyeing his potential replacements.
And it will surely not surprise the 51-year-old who only has a matter of months remaining in the window.
Thelwell has seen some of his summer signings come good with Jake O’Brien finally shining under Moyes.
However, the January market will leave a real feeling of not fully backing Moyes with the Scotsman very clear in his wish for players to be added.
