Everton fans may well be underwhelmed with the January transfer window so far, but they could end it in style.

It has not been the start to the transfer window that Everton would have hoped for having entered the final days still in search of their first signing.

David Moyes will have some clear demands in mind for what he would have wanted to come from this month’s window.

Given the struggles throughout the course of the season in front of goal, Everton were keen to sign another striker.

What should be Everton’s top priority before the deadline on Monday? 😬

A number of Premier League sides are also looking to add more firepower to their side ahead of the deadline on Monday.

And there is one player who Nottingham Forest and Everton are both eyeing in the final hours.

Everton set to rival Nottingham Forest for Jhon Duran

According to reports, Everton are showing an interest in Jhon Duran just over a year on from his departure from the Premier League.

The 22-year-old left Aston Villa for the Saudi Pro League and currently finds himself out on loan with Fenerbahce.

It is not just Everton keen on the Colombian striker, though, with the report from Turkey also crediting Nottingham Forest.

Everton have already inflicted misery on their former manager, Sean Dyche, this season through six points against his new side.

Beating him to the signing of Duran could be yet another sucker punch on the 54-year-old manager.

With Bournemouth and West Ham United also keeping tabs on the striker, it is clear these final days of the window could spark a transfer battle to land his signature.

Everton plans underwhelming in January transfer window

Heading into the final days without a signing is incredibly frustrating given the clear areas needing to be improved.

The Friedkin Group have given Everton their backing financially, but it has been clear that the Blues have just not been willing to pull the trigger this month.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers says Everton are seemingly prioritising the summer market to make their signings.

The issue they will then experience is there could well be a delay in any deals then due to the World Cup.
