Everton could have just been handed a golden opportunity to land their fifth signing of this summer’s transfer window.

The days are now ticking down for Sean Dyche to have his Everton side ready for their opening game of the 2024/25 campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion.

As summer’s go, this has certainly been a positive one for the Toffees who are now seeing movement off the pitch in their takeover hopes.

John Textor has now submitted a fresh bid for Everton as he hopes to become the majority owner on Merseyside.

Three weeks now remain until the transfer window shuts and the squads are locked in until January.

So there is still plenty of time for Everton to make some moves in the market with one player potentially there for the taking.

Everton target is now pushing for a move to England

Over the course of the summer, so far, Everton have been able to address the three main areas of the team.

Jake O’Brien has been brought in to solidify the defence, Tim Iroegbunam for the midfield and then Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom to add to the frontline.

But it seems as if there could still be some room for business to be done at Goodison with Everton considering a move for Kalvin Phillips before the deadline.

And with that in mind, there is now a player who Everton have on their radar which is now begging for a Premier League club to come and purchase him.

Everton have shown an interest in winger Ramon Sosa of CA Talleres again this summer following their interest back in the January window.

The Paraguayan is capable of playing on either side of the wing with Kevin Thelwell prepared to up Everton’s interest in him.

According to TYC Sports, Sosa has now rebelled against Talleres as he refuses to train with the squad as he hopes to land a move to England.

Admittedly, it is a move to Nottingham Forest which the player has on his mind after the Reds reached a verbal agreement to sign him.

But Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are yet to follow up on the agreement which has seen the Talleres president demand Sosa returns to training.

Everton could hand Ramon Sosa opportunity as Nottingham Forest delay

The golden opportunity for Everton to go and sign Sosa arises through Forest’s clear interest in another winger.

On Thursday night it was revealed by Fabrizio Romano that the Reds had made a bid for the Porto winger Galeno – albeit the bid was rejected.

Clearly, Forest have their eyes on other targets which has left Sosa in the dark as to whether he is going to get a move to England.

Given the player has put himself in the firing line for criticism from his current club, an offer from Everton could be well received by the player.

At £20m, Everton could land one of the rising stars from this summer’s Copa America and beat their Premier League rivals in the process.
