Everton have made two signings so far this summer transfer window, so there is plenty left to do in time for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Everton completed the signing of Thierno Barry earlier this month, which follows the permanent addition of Carlos Alcaraz.
David Moyes is keen to add quality to his forward ranks, and Everton are exploring a deal to sign James McAtee from Manchester City.
Rangers’ Hamza Igamane is also on Moyes’ radar as the Scotsman wants another striker to compete with Barry and Beto.
Now, there is a fresh Everton transfer rumour and this time it’s involving a defender.

Everton in talks to sign Lyanco
Everton are in the market for a central defender to bolster their ranks and according to Globe Esporte, they’re in talks to sign Lyanco.
The Toffees have made an approach to Atletico Mineiro along with Greek outfit Olympiacos and Qatari side Al Duhail.
It’s understood that Lyanco’s camp are advancing in negotiations with one club, however, there’s no mention of which.
The Brazilian defender only left Southampton last summer, having spent three years on the South Coast, making 36 Premier League appearances in the process.
The 28-year-old has impressed under Gabriel Milito and has netted four goals so far this season, evincing his attacking threat.
What Ralph Hasenhuttl said about Lyanco
Lyanco’s former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has described Lyanco as a ‘fantastic character’.
“This guy is a fantastic character,” said Hasenhuttl.
“You see how he was celebrating his first Premier League game and now again he is happy, you know how much it means to him to play for us.
“This is exactly the kind of player we want in our team.”
Moyes places great emphasis on creating a positive culture around Finch Farm, so it sounds like Lyanco would certainly fit into that plan.
