Everton return to action in the Premier League on Sunday with an away trip following a run of dismal home form.

David Moyes will be taking his side to face an in-form Aston Villa, who are flying high in all competitions this season.

This will be the final game in which Everton find themselves without Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye as they’re soon set to return from AFCON.

However, the Toffees are still going to have to put together a makeshift side due to the injury issues affecting the side.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has stepped up his injury recovery at Everton, but the midfielder is still unavailable for selection.

With no new signings through the doors at Finch Farm, here is how Everton News is expecting Moyes to field his side at Villa Park.

What changes do you want to see on Sunday? 🤔

Harrison Armstrong set for final Everton audition

As Gueye is set to return to the squad next week following Sunday’s AFCON final, this will leave Harrison Armstrong with one final audition to impress.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Paul Heckingbottom admitted he’s ready for Armstrong to return to Preston.

No final decision appears to have been made yet over the 18-year-old’s future for the remainder of the term.

After all, Everton have now seen Tim Iroegbunam fall to injury over recent days.

Moyes has been so impressed with Armstrong and fans will surely be excited to see him play in the midfield two alongside James Garner on Sunday.

Everton must return Thierno Barry to starting XI

Beto made a rare start at the weekend in the FA Cup against Sunderland, and it was not a performance to remember.

While that does not excuse Thierno Barry’s dreadful penalty in the shootout, the youngster should return to the starting XI on Sunday.

Jack Grealish also returns from his suspension, which will hopefully improve the service provided to the striker during the game.

Tyler Dibling simply has not been good enough for Everton when he has been handed an opportunity in the side of late.

The summer signing has had to bide his time since making the move to Merseyside, but he simply has not taken his chance during the absence of Iliman Ndiaye.

Everton are making moves for new strikers in the market following the poor start to the season for their two forwards.

Sunday offers yet another opportunity for one of them to try and nail down some form in front of goal.

Merlin Rohl needs to impress after turbulent Everton start

It has been a real mixed bag with Everton’s summer signings.

Merlin Rohl is certainly a player that fans are still trying to figure out as he finally gets somewhat of a run in the side going.

Despite his injury issues, Moyes has hailed Rohl’s physicality shown in training since he landed in the summer.

Now it is time for him to show his quality on the pitch, especially with some of the club’s top players soon set to return to Moyes’ selection.
