David Moyes has seen one of his long-term Everton injury absences return to training ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion on the weekend.

Everton will be looking to make it two consecutive wins on the back of their victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Although spirits may be high around Goodison Park, the Toffees remain well within the relegation battle despite opening up a bit of a cushion.

Moyes has approved foreign signings at Everton this month as he is hoping for upgrades to his squad for the remainder of the term.

However, he may now have just been handed a significant boost to his options with one injured player spotted at Finch Farm on Thursday.

Tim Iroegbunam returns to Everton training

The Friedkin Group wanted to sign a new midfielder for Everton this month, and still have time to do so.

But there may have been some pressure taken off the Toffees in recent days with one returning member of the squad.

On Thursday, Everton shared some images from their latest training session with Tim Iroegbunam spotted with the first team.

The summer signing has had a rough 2024/25 campaign after joining from Aston Villa under Sean Dyche.

Iroegbunam has been out of action for 13 weeks – almost 14 – after suffering an ankle injury back in October.

Everton fans were devastated to hear of Iroegbunam’s injury last year and it looks like Moyes is set to be boosted by his full return very soon.

It has been a long road to recovery, but Iroegbunam who’s been hailed ‘incredible’ will be hoping to earn his spot in side under Moyes.

Everton set to have James Garner and Iroegbunam back

It is not just Iroegbunam who has returned with James Garner back in Everton training, too.

That is yet another midfielder who should be back in Moyes’ thinking for a matchday very soon and easing the need to dip into the market in that position.

Moyes is keen to see a new forward signed at Everton and that has to be the priority.

Not only does this injury boost provide Moyes with more options, but it also creates greater competition for places which may well provide an even bigger benefit for the Toffees.
