Everton fans will be hoping for a big summer transfer window under the Friedkins.

David Moyes really has worked wonders since making his return to Merseyside back in January.

However, Saturday’s defeat against Manchester City did highlight some of the areas which will need bolstering when the window opens.

Of course, even suggesting Everton should be disappointed with a loss to City shows the leap the club have taken over recent months.

Pep Guardiola said Everton take set pieces better than anyone as he was full of praise for the Toffees over the weekend.

But the Blues are still missing a lot of quality going forward as they struggled once again to find the back of the net.

With the window approaching, there is one player who’s just been mooted with a switch to Everton which would certainly add plenty of quality.

Everton tipped as potential landing spot for Kevin De Bruyne

After making what could be his last appearance against the Toffees, Everton fans applauded Kevin De Bruyne for what he has provided the Premier League over the years.

It was a moment of real class, but that may not be his final appearance in front of Everton fans.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Scott Minto sensationally mooted Everton as a potential landing spot for the Belgian superstar.

“I actually just made a few notes, you could talk about Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Hove Albion, even Brentford,” he named as possible teams for De Bruyne to join.

“Crystal Palace, he could be one of the two numbers 10s, but I don’t really see that happening. But if he did want to stay in the area, why not Everton?”

De Bruyne appreciated the reception from Everton fans who would certainly welcome him to Bramley-Moore Dock over the summer.

But it has to be said this would a huge shock if De Bruyne was to join any of the sides Minto just mentioned when he does depart the Etihad.

Kevin De Bruyne still has a lot of quality to offer

Playing purely on the hypothetical scenario that Everton could sign De Bruyne, they would add a player of immense quality and experience.

De Bruyne was denied a certain goal by Jake O’Brien on the weekend in a moment of pure class from the defender.

Despite struggling through his injury issues, De Bruyne has returned with a bang over recent weeks and netted in the game against Crystal Palace the other week.

This quality was on display at Goodison Park over the weekend.

The Friedkins want to make a statement signing, but a player like Richarlison may be considerably more likely than a De Bruyne.
