Everton fans know that there will be plenty of changes to the squad this summer.
It is going to be a very busy time for the new owners The Friedkin Group as they oversee their first big window at the club.
TFG couldn’t do a great deal in January due to players being generally unavailable, and also PSR restrictions.
The club bought in Carlos Alcaraz, but David Moyes didn’t want to splash cash on players who wouldn’t necessarily improve Everton. Especially with funds being tight.
But Moyes will get a healthy budget from The Friedkin Group this summer, and fans are excited to see who could be coming in.
There will also be a big focus on outgoing players.
Currently, there are eight Everton-owned players whose contracts are expiring in the summer. Then, there are decisions to be made on the five players currently at the club on loan.
One player who currently stands to leave the club this summer is Idrissa Gueye – but one amazing statistic must force Everton into action.
Everton star Idrissa Gana Gueye is the best tackler in the Premier League right now

Up until David Moyes came in, it had been a season of struggle for Everton.
But one man who actually did play fairly well under Sean Dyche, and has continued to shine since the arrival of Moyes, is Gueye.
Gueye was once again starting for Everton at the weekend, which was his 25th appearance in the Premier League this season.
22 of those 25 appearances have been starts, and he’s currently on a run of 20 consecutive starts.
All this involvement has allowed the star to impressively climb his way to the top of the Premier League tackles chart.
Currently, he has made 95 in 2024/25 – that is six more than the next player on the list, Crystal Palace full-back Daniel Munoz.
David Moyes praised Gueye and fans want him to stay
After the draw with Manchester United, David Moyes praised Gueye, saying: “He’s been doing great, he’s played really, really well and he is keeping it going.
“He does a great job for the team.”
Just before Christmas, Everton fans demanded Gueye be given a contract extension by the club, and fans have again called for him to be signed up as Everton tweeted out about him topping the tackles table.
Gueye hinted he’s looking to stay at Everton when he talked about challenging for Europe under Moyes, and supporters really do hope that there will be movement on this situation soon.
Not only is Gueye – who re-signed for Everton in 2022 for around £2 million (BBC Sport) – still a superb tackler, but he still gets about the pitch really well despite his advancing years, and is also a leader in the dressing room. Surely, the 35-year-old is deserving of one more year, and in the new stadium as well.
